LIFEGUARD
The City of Camden is seeking young people looking for an exciting, outdoor summer work experience! Certification prior to hire is not necessary.
Job Purpose
To safeguard the lives of patrons who visit the facility by enforcing pool policies, regulations, laws and/or ordinances governing patron conduct.
Pay is $11.50 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification and a valid American Red Cross Bloodborne Pathogens certification (provided).
Maintain participant safety through preventative lifeguarding. Understand and enforce all rules and regulations. Position yourself at the assigned locations around the pools for maximum visibility. Check the area for safety hazards and try to eliminate them.
Maintain a high level of readiness. Respond quickly to all emergency situations and utilize appropriate rescue techniques and follow up procedures. Provide emergency first aid or call other staff for assistance when necessary. Report any accidents, unsafe conditions, or disciplinary problems on the appropriate forms.
Remain at the pool unless properly relieved. Secure the pool when necessary.
Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons. Work cohesively with all other facility staff.
Perform basic cleaning duties daily. Perform cleanup of body fluids as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.
Attend, participate in, and complete all trainings as required by the facility Aquatics Director and/or Parks Supervisor.
Work shifts scheduled on weekdays and weekends including mornings, daytime, evenings, and holidays.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
