Code Enforcement

The City of Camden Code Enforcement Department contains several divisions all of which have a unique job that helps Keep our City Clean and our citizens safe.

Building Inspections

The City of Camden's Building Inspections Team is responsible for enforcing building codes and issuing building, electrical, plumbing sign, and moving permits. The Building Inspections Department also handles plan reviews for construction projects and issues a Certificate of Occupancy when the projects are finished and have met all requirements.

Code Compliance

The City of Camden's Code Compliance Team works partners with homeowners and business owners alike to achieve voluntary compliance as it relates to health and safety. The Compliance Team enforces city codes including high grass, junk & debris, dilapidated structures, junked & inoperable vehicles, and the other nuisances. The Compliance Team works to ensure Camden is a clean and safe place to work, live, and play.

Floodplain Management

City Floodplain Management is a community-based effort to reduce the risk of flooding. It involves a variety of activities, including zoning, building codes, enforcement, and education.

Planning & Zoning

The Planning & Zoning Team works to improve the city through orderly growth by overseeing community development through building standards, zoning, subdivision standards, and the development and implementation of our community's Comprehensive Plan. The Planning & Zoning team receives guidance from the Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustments.
